International Grade Descriptions for Sheet Rubber

  RSS 1X

The grade must be produced under conditions wherein all processes are carefully and uniformly controlled. Each bale must be packed free of mould but very slight traces of dry mould on wrappers or bale surfaces adjacent to wrapper found at the time of delivery will not be objected to, provided there is no penetration of mould inside the bale. Oxidized spots of streaks, weak, heated, under-cured, over-smoked, opaque and burnt sheets are not permissible. The rubber must be dry, clean, strong, sound and evenly smoked, and free from blemishes, specks, resinous matter (rust), blisters, sand, dirty packing and any other foreign matter. Small pin-head bubbles, if scattered, will not be objected to. No master or official international sample has been established for this grade.

  RSS 1

  RSS 2

Slight resinous matter (rust) and slight amounts of dry mould on wrappers, bale surfaces and interior sheets, found at the time of delivery will not be objected to. Should “rust” or “dry mould” in an appreciable extent appear on more than 5% of bales sampled, it shall constitute grounds for rejection. Small bubbles and slight specks of bark to the extent as shown in the sample will not be objected to. Oxidized spots of streaks, weak, heated, under-cured, over- smoked, opaque and burnt sheets are not permissible. The rubber must be dry, clean, strong, sound and free from blemishes, resinous matter (rust), blisters, sand, dirty packing and all other foreign matter other than those specified above are permissible.

  RSS 3

Slight resinous matter (rust) and slight amounts of dry mould on wrappers, bale surfaces and interior sheets, found at the time of delivery will not be objected to. Should “rust” or “dry mould” in an appreciable extent appear on more than 10% of the bales sampled, it shall constitute grounds for rejection. Slight blemishes in colour, small bubbles and small specks of bark are permissible to the extent shown in the sample. Oxidized spots or streaks, weak, heated, under-cured, over-smoked, opaque and burnt sheets are not permissible. The rubber must be dry, strong and free of blemishes, blisters, sand, dirty packing and all other foreign matter other than those specified above as permissible.

  RSS 4

Slight resinous matter (rust) and slight amounts of dry mould on wrappers, bale surfaces and interior sheets, found at the time of delivery will not be objected to. Should “rust” or “dry mould” in an appreciable extent appear on more than 20% of the bales sampled, it shall constitute grounds for rejection. Medium sized bark particles, bubbles, translucent stains, slightly sticky and slightly over-smoked rubber are permissible to the extent as shown in the sample. Oxidized spots or streaks, weak, heated, under-cured, over-smoked (in excess of the degree shown in the sample) and burnt sheets are not permissible. The rubber must be dry, firm and free of blemishes, blisters, sand, dirty packing and all other foreign matter other than those specified above as permissible.

  RSS 5

Slight resinous matter (rust) and slight amounts of dry mould on wrappers, bale surfaces and interior sheets, found at time of delivery will not be objected to. Should “rust” or “dry mould” in an appreciable extend appear on more than 30% of the bales sampled, it shall constitute grounds for objection. Large bark particle, bubbles and small blisters, stains, over– smoked, slightly sticky rubber and blemishes of the amount and size shown in the sample are permissible. Slightly under dried rubber is permissible. Weak, heat, burnt, oxidized spots or streaks are not permissible. The rubber must be dry, firm, and free of blemishes except to the extent shown in the samples. Dirty packing, sand and all other foreign matter other than specified above is not permissible.

 Packing and Baling

The sheets after grading are packed in 50 kg bales. The grades are marked on the bales and marketed.

പുകച്ച റബ്ബര്‍ ഷീറ്റിന്റെ ഗ്രേഡുകള്‍

റബ്ബര്‍ ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ കണ്‍‌മതി സമ്പ്രദായത്തിലാണ് ഇപ്പോഴും തരം തിരിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോരുന്നത്‌. ലോകത്തില്‍ ആദ്യമായി സ്വാഭാവിക റബ്ബറിന് തരം തിരിവുകള്‍ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശിച്ചത്‌ ന്യൂയോര്‍ക്കിലെ റബ്ബര്‍ മാനുഫാക്‌ചറേഴ്‌സ്‌ അസ്സോസിയേഷന്‍ (ആര്‍.എം.എ) എന്ന സംഘടനയാണ്. 1960 -ല്‍ സിങ്കപ്പൂരില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന അന്തര്‍ദേശീയ സമ്മേളനം ഇപ്പോള്‍ നിലവിലുള്ള ഗ്രേഡിംഗ്‌ രീതി അംഗീകരിക്കുകയും സ്വാഭാവിക റബ്ബര്‍ തരംതിരിക്കുന്ന വിധം വിശദമായി പ്രദിപാദിക്കുന്ന “ഗ്രീന്‍ ബുക്ക്‌ എന്ന മാനുവല്‍” പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇതനുസരിച്ച്‌ റബ്ബര്‍ഷീറ്റുകളെ ആറ്‌ ഗ്രേഡുകളായിട്ടാണ് തിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്‌. ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 1x, ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 1, ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 2, ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 3, ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 4, ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 5 എന്നിവയാണ് അവ. റിബ്‌ഡ്‌ സ്മോക്ക്‌ഡ്‌ ഷീറ്റ്‌ എന്നതിന്റെ ചുരുക്കപേരാണ് ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌. റബ്ബര്‍ ഷീറ്റിന്റെ നിറം, കരട്‌, മറ്റു മാലിന്യങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവയുടെ തോതും, ഷീറ്റിന്റെ ബലം, പുകയുടെ അളവ്‌, ഉണക്ക്‌, കുമിളകള്‍, ഒട്ടല്‍, സുതാര്യത, ജാരണ ലക്ഷണങ്ങള്‍, റീപ്പര്‍ അടയാളം എന്നിവയുടെ ഏറ്റക്കുറച്ചിലുകളാണ് റബ്ബര്‍ ഷീറ്റ്‌ തരം തിരിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള മാനദണ്ഡങ്ങള്‍. ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ സാധാരണയായി സൂര്യപ്രകാശത്തിനെതിരെ തിരിച്ചു പിടിച്ചാണ് ഗ്രേഡ്‌ നിശ്ചയിക്കുന്നത്‌.

ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 1x

ഈ ഗ്രേഡിലുള്ള ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ നല്ലതുപോലെ ഉണങ്ങിയതും യാതൊരുവിധ കരടോ മാലിന്യങ്ങളോ ഇല്ലാത്തതും, ബലമുള്ളതും, ഒരേ അളവില്‍ പുകച്ചതും, സുതാര്യവും ആയിരിക്കണം. തേനിന്റെ നിറമോ സ്വര്‍ണനിറമുള്ളതോ, ആയ ഷീറ്റുകളാണ് ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്‌. മങ്ങിയ നിറത്തിലുള്ള ഷീറ്റുകള്‍, അമിതമായി പുകകൊണ്ട ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ ഇവയൊന്നും തന്നെ ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഷീറ്റില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കരുത്‌. ജാരണം മൂലമുള്ള ഉരുകല്‍, ഒട്ടല്‍, ബലക്കുറവ്‌, കുമിളകള്‍, തുരുമ്പ്‌, റീപ്പര്‍ പാടുകള്‍, കത്തിയ ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ ഇവയൊന്നുംതന്നെ ഈ ഗ്രേഡ്‌ ഷീറ്റില്‍ കാണാന്‍ പാടില്ല.

ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 1

ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ സ്വര്‍ണനിറമുള്ളതോ തേനിന്റെ നിറമുള്ളതോ ആയിരിക്കണം. കരടോ മറ്റു മാലിന്യങ്ങളോ ഒന്നുംതന്നെ കാണാന്‍ പാടില്ല. ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ ബലമുള്ളതും, പുകച്ചതും സുതാര്യവും ആയിരിക്കണം. മങ്ങിയ നിറത്തിലുള്ളതും അമിതമായി പുകച്ച ഷീറ്റുകളും ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍ അനുവദനീയമല്ല. ജാരണം മൂലമുള്ള ഉരുകല്‍, ഒട്ടല്‍, ബലക്കുറവുള്ള ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍, കുമിളകള്‍, തുരുമ്പ്‌, റീപര്‍ പാടുകള്‍, ഉണങ്ങാത്ത ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍, കത്തിയ ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ ഇവയൊന്നും തന്നെ ഈ ഗ്രേഡിലുള്ള ഷീറ്റില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുവാന്‍ പാടുള്ളതല്ല. മുകളില്‍ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഗ്രേഡില്‍‌പ്പെട്ട റബ്ബര്‍ ഷീറ്റുകളുടെ കെട്ടിന് പുറത്ത്‌ പൂപ്പലോ മണല്‍‌ത്തരികളോ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കരുത്‌. ഭംഗിയായി പായ്ക്ക്‌ ചെയ്തിരിക്കണം.

ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 2

വളരെ ചെറിയ കുമിളകള്‍ (pin head bubbles) പട്ടയുടെ ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ പൊടിക്കരടുകള്‍ എന്നിവ ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഷീറ്റില്‍ അനുവദനീയമാണ്. പക്ഷേ ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ നല്ലതുപോലെ ഉണങ്ങിയതും തേന്‍ നിറമുള്ളതും ബലമുള്ളതും സുതാര്യവുമായിരിക്കണം. ഒട്ടല്‍, ഉരുകല്‍, ജാരണം മൂലമുള്ള പാടുകള്‍ ഇവയൊന്നും തന്നെ ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഷീറ്റുകളില്‍ കാണാന്‍ പാടില്ല. മണല്‍‍ത്തരി, വൃത്തിയില്ലാത്ത പായ്‌ക്കിംഗ്‌ മുതലായവയും അനുവദനീയമല്ല. ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഷീറ്റിലോ അതിന്റെ കെട്ടുകളുടെ പുറത്തോ പൂപ്പല്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കരുത്‌. എന്നാല്‍ പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക്‌ വിധേയമാക്കുന്ന മൊത്തം കെട്ടുകളില്‍ അഞ്ച്‌ ശതമാനത്തിന്റെ കവര്‍ഷീറ്റില്‍ വളരെ ചുരുങ്ങിയ തോതില്‍ ഉണക്ക പൂപ്പല്‍ പരിശോധന സമയത്ത്‌ കാണുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ തള്ളിക്കളയേണ്ടതില്ല എന്നാണ് ഗ്രീന്‍ ബുക്കിലെ നിബന്ധന.

ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 3

പട്ടയുടെ ചെറിയ പൊടിക്കരടുകള്‍, ചെറിയ കുമിളകള്‍ എന്നിവ ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഷീറ്റുകളില്‍ അനുവദനീയമണ്. അല്‍പ്പം നിറം മങ്ങിയ ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍ പെടുത്താം. ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ നല്ലതുപോലെ ഉണങ്ങിയതും ബലമുള്ളതും സുതര്യവും പുകച്ചതും ആയിരിക്കണം. ഒട്ടല്‍, ഉരുകല്‍, ജാരണവിധേയമായ ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍, ഉണങ്ങാത്ത ഭാഗങ്ങൾ, വലിയകുമിളകള്‍, തുരുമ്പ്‌, റീപ്പര്‍പാടുകള്‍, മണല്‍ത്തരികള്‍ എന്നിവയില്‍നിന്നും വിമുക്തമായിരിക്കണം. പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക്‌ വിധേയമാക്കുന്ന മൊത്തം കെട്ടുകളില്‍ പത്തു ശതമാനം കെട്ടുകളുടെ പുറത്തും അകമേയുള്ള ഷീറ്റുകളിലും നേരിയ തോതില്‍ ഉണക്ക പൂപ്പല്‍ തുരുമ്പ്‌ എന്നിവ പരിശോധനസമയത്ത്‌ കാണുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ അവ തള്ളിക്കളയേണ്ടതില്ല എന്ന്‌ ഗ്രീന്‍ ബുക്കില്‍ നിബന്ധനയുണ്ട്‌.

ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 4

ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഷീറ്റുകളില്‍ നേരിയ തോതില്‍ പട്ടയുടെ പൊടിക്കരടുകള്‍, കുമിളകള്‍, റീപ്പര്‍മാര്‍ക്ക്‌ എന്നിവ അനുവദനീയമാണ്. നേരിയ തോതില്‍ ഒട്ടലുള്ള ഷീറ്റുകളും ഈ ഇനത്തില്‍പ്പെടുത്താം. പുക കൂടുതലുള്ളതാണെങ്കിലും സുതാര്യമായതാണെങ്കില്‍ ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്താം. ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ നല്ലതുപോലെ ഉണങ്ങിയതും ബലമുള്ളതുമായിരിക്കണം. പൊള്ളിയതോ, ഉരുകിയതോ, ബലക്കുറവുള്ളതോ, കരിഞ്ഞതോ ആയ ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ ഈ വിഭാഗത്തില്‍പ്പെടുത്താന്‍ പാടില്ല. പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക്‌ വിധേയമാക്കുന്ന മൊത്തം കെട്ടുകളില്‍ 20 ശതമാനം കെട്ടുകളുടെ പുറത്തും അകമേയുള്ള ഷീറ്റുകളിലും നേരിയ തോതില്‍ ഉണക്ക പൂപ്പല്‍, തുരുമ്പ് എന്നിവ കാണുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ അവ തള്ളിക്കളയേണ്ടതില്ല എന്നാണ് ഗ്രീന്‍ ബുക്കിലെ നിബന്ധന.

ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 5

ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഷീറ്റുകളില്‍ ചെറിയ കരടുകള്‍, കുമിളകള്‍, റീപ്പര്‍മാര്‍ക്ക്‌, ഒട്ടല്‍ എന്നിവ അനുവദനീയമാണ്. പുകക്കൂടുതലുള്ള ഷീറ്റുകള്‍, ഉരുകിയ ഷീറ്റുകള്‍, സുതാര്യമല്ലാത്ത ഷീറ്റുകൾ, കറുത്ത ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ എന്നിവ ഈ ഇനത്തില്‍പ്പെടുത്താം. ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ നല്ല ബലമുള്ളതും, ഉണങ്ങിയതും ആയിരിക്കണം. ജാരണവിധേയമായ ഷീറ്റുകള്‍, പൊള്ളിയതോ കരിഞ്ഞതോ ആയ ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ എന്നിവ ഈ ഗ്രേഡില്‍ അനുവദനീയമല്ല. പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക്‌ വിധേയമക്കുന്ന 30 ശതമാനം കെട്ടുകളുടെ പുറത്തും അകമേയുള്ള ഷീറ്റുകളിലും ഉണക്കപ്പൂപ്പല്‍, തുരുമ്പ്‌ എന്നിവ ചുരുങ്ങിയ തോതില്‍ കാണുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ അവ തള്ളിക്കളയേണ്ടതില്ല എന്നാണ് ഗ്രീന്‍ ബുക്കിലെ നുബന്ധന.

തരം തിരിക്കാത്തത്‌

തരം തിരിക്കാത്തത്‌ എന്ന പേരിലും റബ്ബര്‍ ഷീറ്റുകളുടെ വിപണനം നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്‌. ആര്‍.എസ്‌.എസ്‌ 3 എന്ന ഗ്രേഡിന് താഴെ വരുന്ന ഗ്രേഡുകളില്‍പ്പെടുന്നതും വളരെ തരം താണതുമായ റബ്ബര്‍ ഷീറ്റുകള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെട്ടതാണ് ഈ വിഭാഗം.
